About the event
Tabla is the most famous percussion instrument of India, commonly used in the country’s classical music. The level of sophistication and tonal beauty it possesses has elevated the instrument to an unmatched status in the world of percussion.
Shreyas Iyer began learning the tabla when he was 7 years old. He spreads his knowledge and passion for this instrument through classes and workshops in the Phoenix Valley through his school Dhaa School of Music. He also has collaborated with groups like The Pangean Orchestra, Un Corazon Flamenco Dance, Ben Anderson group, Ken Koshio and the Taiko drums at The Musical Instrument Museum and Hegel Yoga Center where he has served as a guest instructor on the topic "Yoga of Sound."
