About the event
The Magic of the Harp
Presented by MusicaNova Orchestra in partnership with Music on the Desert
Dr.  Heidi Hernandez delights in having audiences join her as she explores the range and capabilities of the harp. The concert will feature a Romantic-era piece, Marche  Triomphale du Roi David, by Félix Godefroid; an original composition, Prism, in three movements of Wind, Rain, Ocean; two pieces that  showcase the harp’s capabilities, Chanson dans la Nuit by Carlos Salzedo, and 21, an original  composition., as well as other Baroque and classical selections.
Dr. Hernandez has performed across the United States and  internationally in Spain, France, China, Switzerland, and most recently  Lichtenstein. She greatly enjoys the diversity of her career, which  provides opportunities to play with various churches, choirs,  orchestras, and for all kinds of individuals at their weddings and  special occasions. In addition to an active performance schedule, Dr.  Heidi also maintains the largest private harp studio in the state and  leads HarpSynergy, an ensemble of her students who perform as a harp  ensemble.
She  lives in Litchfield Park with her husband of 15 years and their four children who she teaches at home. Her hope for the future is to compose  more original music, which is the greatest joy to express, and to test the harp as a somatic healing aid for students and audiences. Heidi is  thrilled to be playing for you all this afternoon!
